First time here... two other groups in there with us. Water cups had a funky smell like wet rag smell....sorry I have a sensitive nose. Ordered the Mabo Tofu Udon and Set C combo. The Mabo Tofu udon has a generous amount of soft tofu, good firm udon, and very flavorful despite not really seeing much pork pieces in the soup.
Set C had fried rice, chicken katsu and gyoza, and that was a good amount of food for one person.
I would come back as the price and quality was good... maybe I bring my own water bottle (hahaha)! -

Nothing fancy about Nishi Mon Cho. Just one of your neighborhood ramen-ya's that's convenient and quickly satisfies. Unlike those popular gourmet ramen joints that cost an arm and a leg just for a bowl of ramen, NMC has great deals like the daily specials and the combos that provide value for a lot of food. Take for example the Wednesday special. Chicken Katsu Curry with 4 pieces of gyoza for $9.95.
You may not get that straight out of Japan taste or atmosphere at NMC, but you will leave full and maybe even have some leftovers for your next meal. Stick to the combos, they give you a little taste of everything or the ramen. -

This is a ramen shop in Manoa Marketplace. It is decent but not amazing. They have a lot of different choices, rice dishes and combinations. I got the shoyu ramen, which came with a ton of cabbage in the soup and I wasn't a fan. The broth flavor was meh and the noodles were ok. The prices are pretty cheap though.
If its crowded, there's a little wait as there was only 1 waiter. Lots of parking out front in the marketplace. -

Not authentic but they have some interesting dishes. Like crispy noodle, which can hardly find anywhere else. Their foods aren't yummy or fresh but I will probably go back try something else next time.

Weather today was rainy and cold so I wanted some ramen for lunch. I ordered the wakame ramen and 4 pieces if gyoza. My ramen was delivered a few minutes after. The broth smelled kinda funky. It tasted like kim chee water with salt. The noodles were ok as well as the 2 pieces of charsiu. The menme was kinda sweet and a little crunchy (not sure how I feel about that).
The gyoza was also just ok. Taste was not bad but it wasn't cooked to where one side was crispy as it should be.
Service was good.
Several people came in to pick up their phone orders so it seems this place is frequented by those in the area.
Maybe I just ordered the wrong things.
I wouldn't recommend this place as the broth flavor is one of the key components to a great ramen place.
